Carlos Alberto Mendez Velazquez
Is a DACAmented filmmaker born in Mexico City, residing in Los Angeles, CA since three years of age. Carlos has worked on live television shows, News stations, directed live sports events, documentaries and short films.
Carlos is a first generation college graduate, he received his Bachelor's Degree in Film and Television studies in 2016 from CSULB. His filmography has won Best Picture awards under campus film festivals and his work has been recognized in a variety of media outlets; such as, Univision, Telemundo, EFE, Uproxx, La Opinion and many others. He has dedicated his filmography to telling the stories of the undocumented community. Carlos is the founder of UndocuCinema, an organization dedicated to advocate and support undocumented artists in the film and television industry.
His current filmography includes the short Documentary film ‘Con Mascaras y Sin Papeles’ and his first stop motion animation project ‘Encaged Love’, both have been awarded film festival recognition and awards. As he forms part of Latinx in Animation, he hopes to continue to advocate for inclusion in all aspects of cinema.
