LALIFF 2021

June 2 – June 6, 2021

LALIFF 2021 flyer

Celebrating our 20th anniversary, LALIFF 2021 will be a hybrid festival with both in-person and virtual screenings. The program includes features and short films, episodics, arts, musical performances and masterclasses with great personalities. We will also offer a range of events for industry professionals as part of the Industry Days programming, with many networking opportunities.

Opening the festival is the anticipated World Premiere of Anthony Nardolillo’s 7th & Union, with the great Omar Chaparro in the leading role. 7th & Union tells the story of an unlikely ally, a broken promise and an improbable chance that inspires two men to use their old passions to pursue their dream of providing a brighter future for their family. The cast also includes Edy Ganem (“Devious Maids”), Gregg Daniel (“True Blood”) and the young and talented Sonny Bustamante (“Julie and the Phantoms.”)

Closing the festival is the acclaimed Women is Losers helmed by Lissette Feliciano. This coming-of-age drama is set in working-class San Francisco of the 60’s. The film stars Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’s Lorenza Izzo. Simu Liu, who will make history this fall for his lead role in Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, also stars in the film.
